Job summary

Mattel is seeking a Senior Packaging Designer to lead groundbreaking toy packaging concepts from ideation through production. You will craft brand identities, develop styleguides, and collaborate across product, marketing, and production teams to ensure scalable, high‑impact packaging.

The role requires a strong portfolio in packaging/graphic design, expert Adobe Creative Suite skills, and experience with 3D visualization and AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional packaging or graphic design experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating packaging craft, typography, color, and product storytelling.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and Dimension.
• Experience with 3D visualization and rendering tools.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled creative tools for ideation and development.

Responsibilities

• Create breakthrough brand visual identities for Mattel Venture packaging from concept through production.
• Build brand guidelines, styleguides, visual toolkits, and design systems for packaging.
• Collaborate on packaging strategy from exploration to production.
• Translate insights into clear creative narratives for cross-functional alignment.
• Develop presentations, concept boards, and storytelling materials.
• Use AI thoughtfully to accelerate ideation and visualization and improve workflow.
• Maintain high creative standards and ensure consistency across assets.
• Direct internal and external designers and vendors to deliver quality packaging.
