Job summary

Amcor is seeking a seasoned engineer to manage complex capital projects in PET preforms and rigid containers, driving productivity within multiple sites from conception to qualification. You will review new products from a manufacturing perspective and oversee budgets, timelines and resource allocation.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s in mechanical or electrical engineering and at least seven years in plastics packaging with project management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 7+ years in plastics packaging with project management experience.
• Knowledge of plant layouts and infrastructure equipment.
• Experience managing multiple resources and complex projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with SPC.
• Ability to travel ~60%.
• Experience managing direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure that safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into a mutually acceptable action plan with cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements; manage upgrades.
• Analyze and evaluate performance and cost of new or existing equipment; assess machinery, tooling and workflow.
• Publish weekly project status reports outlining project status and issues.
• Create and maintain division level technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Communicate with plants regularly to understand long term project performance and resolve issues.
• Review CEAV requests to ensure accuracy and compliance to standards.
• Travel ~60%.
