Job summary

Amcor is seeking a seasoned Capital Projects Manager to oversee complex manufacturing initiatives for PET preforms and rigid containers. You will review new products from a manufacturing perspective; manage multiple projects at multiple sites from concept to qualification with responsibility for productivity, timing and budget.

Support productivity and cost reduction projects within manufacturing locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Seven years professional engineering experience in plastics packaging, including seven years of project management.
• Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Experience with plant layouts and infrastructure equipment.
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into action plans meeting cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements; plan upgrades and expansion.
• Analyze equipment performance, cost, tooling, workflow and vendors.
• Publish weekly project status reports and communicate issues.
• Maintain division level technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Communicate with plants to monitor long-term performance and resolve issues.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and compliance.
• Travel ~60%.
