Job summary

RMS Energy is seeking a Lead P&C Field Engineer in Las Vegas, NV to support critical substation protection and control systems. You’ll test, troubleshoot, and commission relays, breakers, transformers, and power equipment across utility, industrial, and energy infrastructure sites.

The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering and power systems, with experience in field testing and commissioning. Excellent safety adherence and client interfacing are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Power Systems.
• 10+ years of experience in relay testing, commissioning, calibration, and maintenance in substation environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of relays, breakers, transformers and other power system protection devices.
• Manage verification of breaker trip circuits, recloser logic, SCADA points, and alarm outputs.
• Coordinate testing and validation of CTs, PTs, CVTs, pilot wire, power line carrier, and fiber optic systems.
• Maintain detailed service reports, test forms, calibration logs, trip test results, and commissioning sign-offs.
