Job summary

WPS Health Solutions seeks a Senior Overpayment Recovery Specialist to lead the Overpayment Recovery Team, coordinating workflows and supporting resolution of complex cases. You will mentor staff, help prepare operational reports, and ensure process documentation aligns with regulatory requirements.

This role supports remote work options, requires Medicare overpayment recovery experience, and emphasizes collaboration with internal and external audits to maintain compliance and drive timely

Qualifications

• Two+ years Medicare Financial/Overpayment Recovery experience or equivalent
• Knowledge of Overpayment Recovery Regulations including coordination of benefits and cash receipts
• Knowledge of audit procedures and report/documentation requirements
• Ability to interpret regulations and apply to manuals/work instructions
• Strong communication skills for mentoring staff and reporting
• Ability to train new employees and support team development
• Ability to collaborate in internal and external audit activities

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor with monitoring department workload inventories and escalation
• Mentor new employees and provide process training
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly operations reports incl. Recovery Audit activities
• Interpret regulations and develop/update work instructions and manuals
• Research and respond to complex overpayment recovery cases
• Perform audits/quality reviews of unit work
• Assist with internal/external audits (OMB-A123, SSAE-16, ISO)
• Ensure process manuals and work instructions are consistent
• Provide technical assistance and test system changes
• Ensure compliance with Federal Privacy Act, HIPAA and confidentiality
• Backup duties for related recovery roles
• Other duties as assigned
