Job summary

UCSF Health’s Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides a full range of services including outpatient specialty pharmacy care across UCSF Medical Center facilities. The Specialty Staff Pharmacist will obtain histories, review profiles, counsel patients, and supervise technicians for insurance authorizations and dispensing of medications.

The role oversees the Patient Management Program and clinical activities, with emphasis on drug information and safety.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D degree required.
• At least 3 years outpatient pharmacy experience.
• At least 2 years of Specialty Pharmacy experience or exposure to clinical programs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pharmacy technicians to secure insurance authorizations and prepare/dispense medications.
• Provide drug information to patients and clinicians and counsel on proper use and interactions.
• Oversee the Patient Management Program and clinical activities as required.
