Job summary

1898 & Co. is seeking a Principal Consultant specializing in OT Strategy for Industrial Cybersecurity to help utility and industrial clients build secure, compliant, and resilient OT environments. This senior role blends regulatory insight with practical architecture and governance expertise.

You will lead multi-year roadmaps, perform risk assessments, and mentor staff while coordinating with executives, engineers, and compliance teams to advance our OT cybersecurity practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, cybersecurity, information technology, or related technical discipline.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, ISA/IEC 62443, GIAC, or similar credentials.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or significant electric utility engineering experience.
• Experience with multiple NERC-registered entity types and regions.
• Experience implementing OT security monitoring and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic OT cybersecurity engagements for utility and industrial clients.
• Develop enterprise-wide OT cybersecurity strategies and multi-year roadmaps.
• Perform OT risk assessments, architecture reviews, and maturity evaluations.
• Advise on network segmentation, remote access, authentication, and monitoring.
• Lead governance, policy development, and compliance readiness initiatives.
• Mentor staff and contribute to thought leadership within OT cybersecurity.
