Job summary

Fatbeam is seeking an OSP Engineer – Level II in Coeur d'Alene, ID to plan, design, and deliver fiber optic projects. You will own engineering activities, coordinate permits, manage contractors, and partner with PMs, utilities, and third-party firms to ensure on-schedule delivery per Fatbeam standards.

The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and field travel (50%–65%). Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in outside plant telecommunications.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with aerial and underground fiber design is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop aerial and underground fiber designs per Fatbeam standards.
• Prepare construction-ready engineering packages and BOMs.
• Own engineering activities from kickoff to handoff.
• Coordinate with utilities, municipalities, and permitting agencies.
• Review third-party deliverables and perform QA/QC before construction release.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and schedules.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
