Job summary

Fatbeam Fiber, headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, seeks a Permit Coordinator to support the Engineering & Construction team by managing the permit process for fiber builds on-site in Coeur d’Alene. You will prepare applications, secure right-of-way approvals, and coordinate with engineering, construction, and public agencies.

The role is full-time, non-exempt, entry-level, with travel locally and a focus on accuracy and timely communication. Background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of office/coordination/customer service experience or equivalent learning ability.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Confident, professional communication by phone and email with internal staff and external contacts.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed.
• Experience with city/county permit offices or online permitting portals preferred.
• Ability to read basic plan sheets, maps, or right‑of‑way drawings preferred.
• Familiarity with GIS or mapping tools (Google Earth or ArcGIS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the permit process for assigned fiber builds from initial application through final closeout.
• Research jurisdictional requirements and prepare complete permit submittals.
• Coordinate with engineering to gather drawings, route maps, traffic control plans, and other materials.
• Submit right-of-way and encroachment permit applications through portals, email, or in person.
• Request pole attachments from utility owners and track make-ready work to completion.
• Maintain the permit tracker for approvals, pending items, risks, and deadlines.
• Follow up on agency comments and route corrections to engineering promptly.
• Distribute approved permits and conditions to construction teams before work begins.
• Monitor expiration dates and coordinate extensions, renewals, and closeouts.
• Log permit fees, bonds, and invoices; provide documentation to Accounting.
• Communicate professionally with city, county, utility, engineering, construction, and project management contacts.
• Travel locally as needed.
• Background check and company policies are required.
