Job summary

The CORE Institute in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduler to coordinate orthopedic surgery schedules, manage pre- and post-operative appointments, and liaise with physicians, patients, and insurers. This role requires strong communication, confidentiality, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment.

You will train new schedulers and maintain accurate EMR entries while ensuring compliance with AEIOU Behavioral Standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of orthopedic surgery scheduling experience or 7+ years surgery scheduling experience in other specialties.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and the public and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Knowledge of insurance plans.
• Knowledge of computer systems.
• Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient information.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates schedules of multiple resources, including outside facilities (i.e. providers, physical resources, and clinical staff schedules).
• Gathers pertinent information from insurance carriers, physicians to determine the patient’s financial obligation for services.
• Call patients to schedule surgery within 48 hours of the order being signed and schedule all pre-op and post-op appointments for the patient.
