Job summary

Kroger Co. is seeking an Organized Retail Crime Investigator in Denver, CO. You will coordinate ORC case investigations, serve as the contact with law enforcement, and partner with loss prevention teams to raise awareness.

Responsibilities include initiating and resolving complex investigations, training staff, reviewing incident reports, testifying in court, and building partnerships with law enforcement and the business community. The role requires travel overnight and 24/7 availability.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Law Enforcement or Retail Loss Prevention investigative experience.
• Experience with stationary and mobile surveillance operations.
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
• Thorough knowledge of state Penal Codes, Evidence Codes and Civil Codes.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct criminal investigations, interview and interrogation skills, evidence gathering and report writing for presentation to Law Enforcement.
• Track record of handling volatile situations with discretion and confidentiality.
• Wicklander certified.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to travel overnight across the division.
• Ability to work 24/7.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, conduct and resolve complex organized retail theft/fraud investigations.
• Conduct ORC prevention and awareness training for internal and external customers.
• Follow-up on shoplift incident reports and compile affidavits for prosecution.
• Prepare case reports for local, state and federal agencies.
• Testify in civil and criminal proceedings.
• Analyze investigative and partner reports and redeploy LP resources as needed.
• Build partnerships with law enforcement and the business community.
• Assist during execution of search warrants and recover stolen merchandise.
• Communicate losses and provide updates to stores.
