Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Denver, CO is seeking an Asset Protection professional to safeguard assets, reduce shrink, and monitor surveillance systems. You will detect shoplifting, conduct investigations and support AP initiatives across stores in the division.

Responsibilities include plainclothes surveillance, training AP specialists, partnering with law enforcement, and testing security equipment. Travel across the division and weekend shifts may be required to ensure safety and profitability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of retail AP experience.
• Demonstrated ability to train others with integrity and professionalism.
• Ability to diffuse confrontational situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct plainclothes surveillance to detect internal and external loss within a store environment.
• Conduct internal and external investigations and report findings; apprehend individuals involved in illegal acts.
• Assist in recruiting, screening, and scheduling of AP specialists in conjunction with district AP managers.
• Coach AP specialists and provide input on performance reviews.
• Review AP case management entries weekly for accuracy and integrity; coach on reporting and decision making.
• Work with ORC investigator to identify training opportunities for AP staff.
• Comply with all laws and company policies; identify/resolve conditions affecting shrink, safety, and profitability.
• Test functionality of store AP equipment (EAS, Lane Hawk, CCTV) during store visits.
• Travel to locations throughout the division and maintain ability to work varied schedules including weekends.
