Job summary

Trinity Health's St. Joseph Mercy Oakland is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. Under supervision of an RN, you will scrub on procedures, maintain sterile technique and support surgeons during complex cases.

This full-time role involves preparing the OR, assisting with positioning, counts, and education of staff, with rotating shift responsibilities and a strong commitment to patient safety and Trinity Health values.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program or equivalent work experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Current CST certification; BLS required.
• Experience in complex cases and sterile technique.

Responsibilities

• Applies asepsis principles to provide optimum patient care and maintains sterile technique.
• Assists in cleaning, stocking and sterilizing instruments and supplies.
• Sets up OR with supplies and equipment; anticipates surgeon needs.
• Assists with moving and positioning patients pre-, intra-, post-operatively.
• Scrubs on a variety of procedures and participates in staff orientation/education.
