Job summary

Trinity Health MI in Pontiac, MI seeks a Surgical Technologist to join the OR team. Under RN supervision, you will prepare the sterile field, assist the surgeon, and maintain aseptic technique during procedures.

Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program; BLS certification required; prior OR experience preferred; able to lift 30 pounds and stand for long periods; strong teamwork and patient-care orientation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program or equivalent work experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Association of Surgical Technologist Certification, preferred.
• Minimum 18 months OR experience; prior moderately-complex perioperative cases preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies aseptic principles to provide optimum patient care and maintains sterile technique.
• Assists in cleaning, stocking and sterilization of instruments and supplies.
• Sets up the OR with supplies and equipment for procedures; anticipates room turnover needs.
• Assists with patient positioning pre-op, intra-op and post-op as directed.
• Passes instruments, sponges, sutures during procedures and maintains accurate counts.
