Job summary

RTX in Goleta, CA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to develop opto-mechanical assemblies from concept through detailed design. You will drive manufacturability studies, collaborate with thermal and structural teams, and maintain technical data packages in the PDM system.

The role is onsite at Goleta and requires a strong background in CAD, GD&T, and program execution. The ideal candidate has a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, with CREO and Windchill experience, and a track

Qualifications

Requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
Mechanical design experience with 3-D CAD modeling (CREO preferred).
Experience with GD&T per ANSI Y14.5 and tolerance stack-up analysis.
Experience with PDM release and Windchill preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop preliminary concepts of opto-mechanical assemblies through final part design using 3D CAD modeling.
Perform manufacturability trade studies to optimize fabrication and integration costs.
Iterate designs with structural/thermal analysts to meet survivability and reliability targets.
Prepare 2D technical data packages and issue revisions in the PDM system.
Collaborate within the IPT to meet cost and schedule constraints and ensure program success.
