Job summary

RTX Goleta, CA is seeking a Senior Manager, Mechanical Engineering to lead a section of 12–15 mechanical engineers responsible for the design, integration, verification, and production of digital processors and RF receiver subsystems for airborne platforms.

This onsite role partners with programs and customers; strong knowledge of electronics packaging, GD&T, and 3D CAD (Creo) is required. Travel 10–20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with at least 10 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with at least 7 years.
• Experience leading mechanical design/development of defense electronics systems and meeting program objectives.
• Experience with electronics packaging design for high-reliability systems and environmental qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Direct line management for 12–15 mechanical engineers and career development.
• Serve as technical contributor and liaison across programs, ensuring success on cost and schedule.
• Oversee section staffing, performance, and recognition; support bids and proposals.
• Apply knowledge of electronics packaging, thermal and structural design, and assembly processes.
• Travel 10–20% to other Raytheon facilities or supplier sites.
