Job summary

RTX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Airborne & Ground Optics Department in McKinney, Texas. The onsite role focuses on hands-on design, drawings, and engineering change processes using CREO and PDM, with potential lab work and hardware building.

The candidate should have a STEM degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with strong presentation and communication skills. Relocation and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field.
• Experience with 3D modeling software (CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
• Electromechanical design experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including a basic knowledge, and understanding of tolerancing.
• Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written).
• Strong organization, coordination, planning, teaming skills, as well as written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilization of RTX tools including CREO modeling software and Product Data Management (PDM).
• Design and documentation support utilizing engineering tools, Adobe, and MS office suite.
• Execution of engineering change and drawing release process.
• Analytical and technical engineering work within a program environment with possible presentations on designs as needed.
• Train on Raytheon processes and procedures.
• Work may include participation in building hardware in a lab environment.
