Qualifications

• 4 to 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in mathematical optimization, machine learning, or algorithm design.
• Proven track record of building and productionizing linear optimization or machine learning models.
• Experience using optimization solvers such as Gurobi or OR-Tools CP-SAT.
• Strong proficiency in backend development, specifically with Python.
• Ability to manage early morning overlap with international team members in Europe and India.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Based in Eastern USA or willing to work full EST hours.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the core optimization algorithms used to generate school schedules.
• Translate scheduling requirements into mathematical models and production code using advanced solvers.
• Develop the backend architecture, including APIs and background jobs, to support the optimization engine.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and deployment processes within an AWS environment.
• Build user-facing components to visualize optimization results and data insights.
• Lead complex technical projects from conception through to production delivery.
• Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to refine constraints and improve model accuracy.
