Timely is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain its core optimization technology and surrounding data-heavy systems used to power school scheduling.

You will lead challenging projects, work across backend, frontend, and data engineering, and push for scalable, observable deployments while mentoring teammates. This is a fully remote role with preference for candidates in NY or Boston.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of development experience shipping value to customers across the stack.
• Experience delivering on complex tech projects in collaboration with product stakeholders.
• Proficiency in backend API development and frontend web applications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product to improve the optimizer's core algorithm and full-stack workflow.
• Explore extensions using generative AI and ML to boost accuracy and speed.
• Lead major projects and define clear roadmaps with the team.
