The candidate should have strong Zemax or Code V experience, an optics-focused degree, and 5–15 years in lens design, with resilience to a dynamic, on-site

Qualifications

• B.S. in Optics, Physics, or equivalent program required.
• MS/PhD in Optics preferred.
• 5–15 years’ experience in lens design using Zemax or Code V (Zemax preferred).
• Image quality metrology experience, e.g. interferometry or MTF testing.
• Demonstrated prototype build successes.
• Knowledge of imaging and non-imaging optics and their quality metrics.
• Knowledge in metrology techniques for optical systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead or design optical assemblies and novel lenses.
• Perform tolerance analysis and suggest assembly methods.
• Present work at customer design reviews.
• Plan acceptance test criteria and verify low-aberration systems.
• Train manufacturing staff for production handoff.
• Lead or support testing of prototype lenses and transition to volume production.
• Develop test documentation and test plans.
• Prepare customer-facing design review material.
