Job summary

Avo Photonics seeks an experienced optical engineer to review customer requirements and develop optical systems that meet specifications, remain cost-effective, manufacturable, and suitable for high-yield production.

You will define alignment metrics, collaborate with engineering teams, present and defend design decisions, and manage project schedules and budgets while mentoring other optical engineers.

Qualifications

• Requires a master's degree or higher in engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of professional photonics industry experience.
• Expert proficiency with optical design software such as Zemax, ASAP, FRED, or GLAD.
• In-depth knowledge of optical material properties, demonstrated optical system design ability, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
