DSJ Global in Boston is seeking an experienced Optical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering advanced optical systems from concept to production. You’ll model, simulate, prototype, test, and manufacture across consumer, industrial, medical, aerospace, and defense applications.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in optical or electro-optical design, Zemax OpticStudio proficiency, and hands-on lab experience with interferometers and spectrophotometers. U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing optical or electro-optical systems.
• Strong background in optical and lens design, ideally using Zemax OpticStudio.
• Experience with wavelengths ranging from UV through LWIR.
• Knowledge of illumination design, non-sequential ray tracing, radiometry, photometry, physical optics, and interferometry.

We’re seeking an experienced Optical Engineer to join a growing team focused on optical design and advanced optical system development. You’ll work across the full product lifecycle, from concept, modeling, and simulation through hands-on prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.

Projects span consumer, industrial, medical, aerospace, and defense applications, offering exposure to a wide variety of complex optical challenges.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing optical or electro-optical systems
• Strong background in optical and lens design, ideally using Zemax OpticStudio
• Experience with wavelengths ranging from UV through LWIR
• Knowledge of illumination design, non-sequential ray tracing, radiometry, photometry, physical optics, and interferometry
• Experience with conceptual optomechanical design
• Hands-on laboratory experience building, testing, and troubleshooting optical systems
• Familiarity with optical test equipment including interferometers, autocollimators, and spectrophotometers
• Degree in Optics, Physics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
