Job summary

Verigent is seeking an IT Systems Engineer III (Lead Engineer) to provide advanced Tier2 support for a nationwide fiber optic OTN/DWDM transport backbone and two NOCs. The role acts as the primary POC for escalations, coordinates with IP engineers and vendors, and documents SOPs, tests, and project narratives.

Qualifications

• Requires Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT with 6+ years in network management.
• Proficient in IP networking and network management tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first escalation level to NOC for network issues.
• Lead for IP device configurations and TTU/MOP activities.
• Perform advanced diagnostics to optimize network performance.
• Provide guidance to junior technicians on IP technology.
• Create and maintain IP network diagrams and design documentation.
• Maintain 100% availability of IP and Network Management services.
• On-call support 24x7; 15% travel.
