Job summary

Ciena is seeking a senior engineer to join the xPO Systems team. You will help drive next-generation Near-Packaged Optics and Co-Packaged Optics solutions, ensuring top performance across photonics, packaging, and system-level design.

You will work with a world-class team testing 200G/400G PAM-4 modules for ML/AI applications. The role requires 5+ years of hands-on lab experience with DSP-based high-speed optical systems and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on lab experience characterizing DSP-based high-speed optical systems.
• Experience with state-of-the-art optical and high-speed electronic test equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a world-class team to develop NPO and CPO solutions.
• Set up, characterize, and test 200G/400G PAM-4 optical modules for ML/AI apps.
• Design and implement test benches and measurement plans for production testing.
• Perform system-level tests with ML/AI, datacom, and telecom manufacturers and operators.
• Analyze results and guide design teams during product definition, design, and debug.
