Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a motivated Optical Manufacturing Engineer to support development and production of next-generation high-speed optical interconnect solutions for AI and hyperscale datacenters.

The role covers optical transceivers, Co-Packaged Optics, OC Switches, and 800G/1.6T modules, requiring fiber optics and silicon photonics knowledge on a global, collaborative team. Growth in a fast-paced environment is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Photonics, or related field (Master's a plus).
• 5+ years with Bachelor’s or 3+ years with Master’s in optical comms, photonics or electronics/high-tech manufacturing.
• Practical knowledge of optical transceivers, fiber-optic comms, and high-speed optical modules.
• Silicon photonics, optical packaging, DSP, and signal integrity concepts.
• Experience with 100G/400G/800G systems is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables) and familiarity with statistical tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize optical interconnect, transceiver, and photonic manufacturing to improve yield.
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot photoelectric conversion, fiber-optic systems, silicon photonics, and signal integrity.
