Job summary

RTX's Airborne & Ground Optics Department seeks an experienced optical design professional to design, test, and deliver EO/IR and laser system capabilities for airborne and ground applications. Based onsite in McKinney, TX, you will collaborate on component design, analysis, and integration while managing small to moderate projects.

You should have a STEM degree with several years in optical design/analysis software (CodeV, Zemax) and hands-on alignment, testing, and manufacturing methods. U.S.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and minimum years of relevant experience or advanced degree with related experience.
• Experience with optical design and analysis software (CodeV, Zemax) including macro/script development.
• Experience with optical alignment, testing, and manufacturing methods; cleanroom experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and deliver EO/IR and laser system capabilities for airborne and ground platforms.
• Create optical drawings and collaborate with vendors for custom components.
• Occasionally manage small to moderate projects including planning and documentation.
