Job summary

RTX is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead contract R&D programs in Advanced Electro-Optics (EO), based onsite in McKinney, TX. You will drive technology maturation into warfighter-ready products and coordinate with customers, leadership, and engineering teams.

The ideal candidate holds a STEM degree with 10+ years in EO systems and program management, plus an active Secret clearance. You will lead staffing, risk management, EVMS, and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

Typically requires a STEM degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with EO systems and system integration, testing and validation.
Active Secret security clearance required prior to start date.
Ability to lead engineering programs and communicate with customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering program execution and technical leadership for EO programs across the lifecycle.
Facilitate communications between external customers, Raytheon leadership, and the engineering team.
Forecast staffing, risk/opportunity, EVMS, IPT coordination, and subcontract management.
Maintain program baselines with documentation and engineering reviews.
Support RFIs/RFPs and new business opportunities with technical input.
Mentor teammates and contribute to engineering process improvements.
