Job summary

Eye Center of St. Augustine, part of EyeSouth Partners, is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to assist ophthalmologists and optometrists. Candidates must hold a COA certification and have ophthalmic technician experience. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Nextech/ICP experience is a plus.

The role involves clinical testing, data entry, medication administration, and supporting patient education in a fast-paced environment. Medical, dental, vision, and other benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current iJCAHPO COA certification required.
• Ophthalmic technician experience required.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Ophthalmic and/or optometric technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clinical responsibilities include reviewing patient charts for completeness, performing tests ordered by the doctor, and acting as a medical scribe entering data into electronic medical records.
• Take ocular and systemic histories and accurately record visual acuity; administer ophthalmic medications under physician direction; assist with in-office procedures and patient education.
• Administrative duties include reporting inventory needs, participating in daily team huddles, reporting potential errors, and supporting the team with additional tasks while maintaining professionalism.
