Job summary

EyeSouth Partners is seeking an ophthalmic technician at Central Florida Eye Specialists in Florida. You will assist ophthalmologists and optometrists by gathering data on patients’ ocular health, performing clinical tests, taking ocular and systemic histories, recording visual acuity, and supporting in-office procedures while ensuring accurate EMR entries.

This on-site role requires strong communication and Nextech/ICP experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Ophthalmic and/or optometric technician experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Perform testing ordered by doctor and based on exam type.
• Enter data into electronic medical records as a medical scribe when needed.
• Take ocular and systemic histories and record visual acuity.
• Administer prescribed medications under physician direction.
• Assist with in-office procedures and ensure informed consent.
• Educate patients and maintain exam room cleanliness.
• Comply with practice procedures, protocols, and regulations.
