Job summary

Atlantic Eye Institute, part of EyeSouth Partners, seeks an ophthalmic technician to support ophthalmologists and optometrists. You will gather data on ocular health, perform clinical tests, and document findings in the EMR.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential for patient-centered care. Responsibilities include chart review, history taking, administering medications, patient education, and CPT/ICD-10 coding.

Qualifications

• Background in ophthalmic exams and testing procedures.
• Able to record ocular and systemic history accurately.
• Must have COA certification and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Perform tests ordered by the doctor and document results.
• Act as medical scribe during exams and enter data into EMR.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Administer medications under physician direction.
• Assist with in-office procedures and obtain informed consent.
• Educate patients and maintain clean exam rooms.
• Code CPT and ICD-10 for diagnostic testing.
