Job summary

Calpine, a business unit of Constellation Energy Corporation, seeks an experienced journey-level technician to start, stop and monitor plant equipment at our Corpus Christi site. You will read gauges, record activities, and adjust within parameters to keep operations safe and efficient.

You will perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, assist in SOP development, and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations while handling bulk

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or technical/vocational training.
• 10+ years related experience incl. health and safety regulations and handling hazardous energy, chemicals and waste.
• Experience with test equipment and calibration devices.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; basic chemistry, physics, electricity and math.
• Advanced certifications/licensures; valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Start, stop and monitor equipment; read gauges and record activities in logs.
• Use monitoring equipment to measure, record and adjust within operating parameters.
• Perform maintenance: diagnosis, repair of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Carry out overhaul maintenance and system improvement tasks.
• Perform chemical analysis and maintain chemistry logs on steam, cooling and condensate systems.
• Assist in developing SOPs and contribute to plant betterment items for efficiency, reliability and safety.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and plant procedures; operate heavy equipment and handle bulk chemicals.
