Job summary

Calpine, a leading electricity generator, is seeking a seasoned operations leader for Corpus Christi Energy Center. The role oversees daily plant operations, directs staff, and ensures safety, environmental compliance, and reliable production.

You will guide economic dispatch, oversee water balance and the plant chemistry program, and manage safety and regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in power plant operations, strong computer skills, and a proven leadership track record.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous leadership or senior level contributor experience is desirable.
• Typically requires 5+ years of power plant operations experience, preferably heavy frame combustion turbine background.
• Strong computer skills including experience with spreadsheets, databases and word processing software.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations and production activities and directs work of operations personnel.
• Supervises operators in all aspects of power plant operations and issues operating instructions for economic dispatch.
• Ensures safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance; oversees plant safety programs and training certifications.
• Accounts for environmental permits and compliance reporting; participates in recruiting and staff development.
