Job summary

Calpine is seeking an experienced operations leader for the Corpus Christi Energy Center to manage daily plant operations and production activities. You will direct the work of operations staff, issue dispatch instructions, ensure water balance, and oversee the plant chemistry program for safety and efficiency.

You will develop safety programs, monitor training and certifications, and ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of power plant operations experience, preferably heavy frame combustion turbine.
• Previous leadership or senior contributor experience.
• Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, databases and word processing.
• Valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and production activities of the plant.
• Direct work activities of operations personnel and supervise operators.
• Issue operating instructions for economic dispatch and ensure water balance.
• Develop and coordinate plant safety programs and training certifications.
• Ensure environmental and permit compliance and timely reporting.
• Oversee recruiting, staffing decisions, and performance reviews.
