Job summary

Calpine, America's largest generator of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources, seeks a journey-level maintenance technician. You will start/stop and monitor equipment, read gauges, and log activities using operating logs and monitoring systems.

You will perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, diagnose issues, and contribute to system improvements to boost efficiency, reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or technical/vocational training or military service.
• 10+ years directly related experience including health and safety regulations and working with hazardous energy, chemicals and waste materials.
• Experience using test equipment and calibration appliances; machinery repair and control systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Start, stop and monitor plant equipment; read gauges and record activities.
• Use monitoring equipment to measure, record and adjust operating parameters.
• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and system improvements for efficiency, reliability and safety.
• Develop standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with regulations.
