Job summary

Xcel Energy in Minnesota is seeking a Standard Operations professional to plan, coordinate, and optimize daily work across multiple crews with safety, reliability, and customer focus at heart. You will assign crews, equipment, and materials, monitor progress, and adapt schedules in real time to meet priorities.

A minimum of five years in construction, design, or operations is required, with strong Excel skills and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum five years' experience in construction, design, maintenance or operations.
• Scheduling/planning experience.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet tools.
• Ability to retrieve and manipulate data from reporting tools.
• Knowledge of and ability to use a wide range of computer software applications which include Microsoft products, work management, mapping and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Adjust planned schedules daily and assign crews based on resources and priority tasks.
• Review and manage exception work outside the normal scheduling window.
• Review work packets before assigning work.
• Coordinate equipment, prerequisites, and materials for timely completion.
• Ensure work acceptance and site readiness.
• Identify necessary project changes and communicate them to the team.
• Triage additional work and adjust schedules to meet start dates.
• Communicate schedule updates to leaders and crews to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with supervisors and stakeholders to maximize productivity.
