GE’s Grid Solutions business unit - Grid System Integration (GSI) - is involved in High Voltage Direct Current solutions, FACTS solutions, and AC & DC substation solutions, which are tailored and designed based on a project-by-project assessment of the customers' individual requirements, whether it's for connecting offshore wind generation, long distance power transmission, utility or industrial power, or energy trading between independent networks.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering operations to deliver on KPIs, acting as the single point of contact for critical initiatives.
  • Contribute actively to the business, engaging deeply with operations beyond administrative tasks.
  • Manage resource, workload, and performance metrics, developing corrective actions as needed.
  • Implement reporting processes to track engineering activities and project milestones.
  • Collaborate with project controls, management, and finance to optimize resource utilization and labor productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and contractual requirements, including licensing and certificates.
  • Support licensing processes and monitor technical risks, design quality, and safety standards.
  • Lead initiatives related to talent management, quality assurance, and process improvements.
  • Work with sourcing, quality, and project teams to enhance subcontractor and supplier performance.
  • Support root cause analysis and database management for engineering compliance.
  • Lead efforts to meet grid code requirements and P.E. stamping during project execution.
  • Utilize technical expertise and LEAN principles to analyze data and support recommendations.
  • Promote process rigor, change management, and organizational transformation.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • At least 10 years of experience in High Voltage Substations.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership managing projects and initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel 25%, including internationally, adhering to GE policies.
Desired Characteristics
  • Decision-making in ambiguous situations, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven experience in global project execution and stakeholder influence.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Experience in EPC projects in high voltage AC substations and a strong EHS and quality mindset.

The salary range is $122,300 - $163,100 annually, potentially up to $203,900 with bonuses, influenced by experience and location. Benefits include healthcare, retirement plans, tuition assistance, and more. The application deadline is June 30, 2025. This is a remote, full-time position at the director level in management and manufacturing within the electric power generation industry.
