Job Description Summary
GE’s Grid Solutions business unit - Grid System Integration (GSI) - is involved in High Voltage Direct Current solutions, FACTS solutions, and AC & DC substation solutions, which are tailored and designed based on a project-by-project assessment of the customers' individual requirements, whether it's for connecting offshore wind generation, long distance power transmission, utility or industrial power, or energy trading between independent networks.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Serve as the single point of contact, own and be held accountable to lead engineering-related business critical initiatives, dashboards, and KPIs.
- Contribute actively and add value by engaging deeply in business operations, not just expediting actions.
- Hold operating rhythm and pacing calls on resource/workload management, engineering utilization, budget deviations, on-time delivery, and related metrics, developing corrective actions as needed.
- Propose and implement efficient reporting processes to measure engineering activity progress, such as document delivery, gate reviews, and customer responses.
- Collaborate with Project Controls for workload vs capacity reviews and coordinate with department managers on ramp-up needs.
- Coordinate with Project Management Office (PMO), Project Controls, and Finance on engineering utilization and labor productivity mitigation.
- Work with legal and contract management on state Certificate of Authorization (COA) tracking, renewals, and filings.
- Monitor and support the licensing process for Professional Engineers (PE/P. Eng).
- Manage technical risk processes, including design strategy, gate reviews, safety, subcontractor qualification, and risk mitigation.
- Lead initiatives such as Talent Management, Technical Experts Program, PEM certification, and Engineering Management Handbook updates.
- Champion EMH and ensure compliance with BMS processes across project teams.
- Work with sourcing and engineering to improve subcontractor and supplier work packages, monitoring performance.
- Support root cause analysis for engineering issues with Quality team and project teams.
- Coordinate with department managers on database management, software, licenses, and future needs.
- Use technical expertise and LEAN principles to analyze data and support decision-making.
- Build consensus and communicate complex information clearly to stakeholders.
- Promote process rigor, change management, and transformation initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university
- At least 10 years of experience in High Voltage Substations
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership managing projects, programs, or initiatives
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international travel, in compliance with GE guidelines

We offer a competitive salary range of $122,300 to $163,100 USD annually, with potential for a performance bonus.
