Position Overview

The Engineering Operations Manager reports to the North America (NAM) GSI Engineering Leader. This role leads engineering operations to achieve key business KPIs.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead engineering initiatives, dashboards, and KPIs as the primary point of contact.
• Contribute actively to business operations, not just coordinate actions.
• Manage resource planning, workload, utilization, and delivery metrics, developing corrective actions as needed.
• Implement efficient reporting processes for engineering activities and project milestones.
• Collaborate with Project Controls, PMO, and Finance to optimize resource utilization and labor productivity.
• Monitor state Certificate of Authorization (COA) statuses, renewals, and licensing for engineers.
• Manage technical risk processes, design reviews, and safety considerations.
• Lead initiatives related to talent management, certification, and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with EMH/BMS processes across engineering teams.
• Work with sourcing and quality teams to monitor subcontractor and supplier performance.
• Support root cause analysis and database management for grid code requirements and P.E. stamping plans.
• Utilize technical expertise and LEAN practices for data analysis and decision-making.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and promote process rigor and change management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 10 years of experience in High Voltage Substations.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership managing projects and initiatives.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including internationally, adhering to GE guidelines.

Preferred Characteristics

• Decisive, adaptable, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Effective communicator with problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with global projects, EPC high voltage substation work, and a strong safety and quality mindset.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $122,300 to $163,100 USD annually, with potential performance bonuses. Benefits include health coverage, retirement plans, tuition and adoption assistance, paid parental leave, and insurance options.
