Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to lead a large, fast-paced facility in Memphis, TN. You will manage both salaried and hourly staff, align strategy with execution, and drive safety, quality, and productivity.

You will develop leaders, mentor teams, own budgeting and labor planning, and partner with HR, Finance, Safety, IT, and engineering to deliver on key metrics. This role offers strong career growth across Amazon’s expanding network and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
• Experience with staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, and terminations.
• Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• 7+ years of Direct management experience, in manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics.

Responsibilities

• Owns and delivers the operational budget for functional area, including safety, productivity, financial and labor planning, and operational goals.
• Long-term planning (3, 6, 12 months) including labor rate forecasting and peak season planning.
• Drives continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and improve productivity.
• Networks with leaders across the network to share process improvements and drive efficiencies.
• Establishes objectives and metrics for safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience.
• Mentors and develops leaders and staff.
• Participates in recruiting to identify and evaluate candidates for promotion or hire.
• Works with HR, Finance, Safety, IT and other leaders to secure resources for projects.
