Job summary

Georgia Ports Authority seeks an Asst Manager of Operations for GCT Containers, reporting to the Container Yard Manager. You will supervise, plan, and evaluate all container operations staff, ensuring safe, cost-effective performance and adherence to GPA standards.

You will coordinate with maintenance for equipment, oversee staff scheduling and training, and drive efficiency in Yard, Vessel, Gate, and Intermodal activities while engaging with external customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Ability to schedule, organize, and supervise the work of subordinates.
• Ability to exercise prompt independent judgment.
• Ability to learn and manage the GPA computer systems.
• Excellent oral, written, and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise, plan, coordinate, and evaluate all Container Operations service departments and personnel.
• Promote safety and ensure safe operation within budget.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for equipment availability and preventive maintenance scheduling.
• Oversee scheduling of departmental employees and training for equipment operation.
