Job summary

Georgia Ports Authority is seeking a Manager of Crane Maintenance at Ocean Terminal to organize and oversee the crane maintenance departments. You will lead long-range planning, scheduling, and repair operations while ensuring safety and compliance with applicable standards.

The role requires strong supervisory skills, knowledge of crane systems, and budget management. You will collaborate with operations and other divisions to coordinate maintenance efforts and improve reliability at GPA

Qualifications

• Requires four-year college degree in engineering, logistics or related field.
• Experience supervising crane maintenance preferred.
• Familiarity with cranes and related maintenance processes.

Responsibilities

• Performs managerial duties such as long-range planning, equipment and employee scheduling, and equipment repairs/replacement.
• Consults with operations to determine needs and coordinates maintenance and repairs; handles emergency repairs with other divisions.
• Sets priorities and standardizes procedures for crane maintenance departments.
• Manages annual capital and operating budgets for crane maintenance; submits budget recommendations.
• Maintains maintenance files and records (PMs, certifications, inspections, costs); prepares monthly reports.
• Reviews work orders and downtime logs to identify recurring failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitors preventive maintenance program and establishes long-range goals; conducts quality audits.
• Monitors spare parts inventory and coordinates with purchasing and vendors for warranties and rebuilds.
• Trains and develops subordinates; enforces internal policies and procedures.
