Job summary

Kimmel & Associates represents a premier commercial concrete contractor in Central Virginia seeking an Operations Manager to lead construction operations. You will direct Project Managers and Field Superintendents, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence across multiple projects.

The role emphasizes proactive leadership, stakeholder management, and the delivery of high-quality concrete construction with a focus on continuous improvement and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 8–10+ years in commercial construction in an Operations Manager or senior leadership role.
• 6+ years in commercial concrete construction with projects $2M+.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day construction operations, including project, resource, and employee management.
• Lead and hold Project Managers and Field Superintendents accountable for project execution.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Build relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, design teams, and internal staff.
• Promote a strong Safety for Life culture with company safety leadership.
• Communicate safety expectations and company values to teams and partners.
• Provide leadership in planning, execution, and issue resolution.
• Identify and resolve operational challenges with sound judgment and practical solutions.
• Leverage technology to improve communication, visibility, efficiency, and client experience.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Communicate project plans effectively and motivate teams to meet objectives.
