Job summary

Hydro Extrusions in North America is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain machinery and support equipment across our extrusion operations. The role emphasizes safe work practices and preventative maintenance, including troubleshooting and part replacement.

Qualified candidates will have hands-on experience with motors, pumps, valves, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems, along with a strong commitment to safety and 5S housekeeping. Relocation assistance may be considered.

Qualifications

• Proficient in welding, fabrication, and mechanical repair.
• Experience with motors, pumps, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices.

Responsibilities

• Performs mechanical troubleshooting and repair of machinery.
• Repairs and replaces defective parts, lubricates and cleans parts.
• Performs and lockout/tagout procedures according to company policy.
• Installs and assists with new and replacement equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance with regular inspections.

What you will be doing

Summary: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as, Electric Motors, Hydraulic Pumps / Valves, Pneumatic / Hydraulic cylinders, Cranes, Automatic Saws, Conveyor / Belt systems and related repair equipment such as Welders, Oxy-Fuel Torches, Drill Presses, Machine Tools, Power Tools and a full range of Hand Tool

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs mechanical troubleshooting and repair of machinery
• Repairs and replaces defective parts, lubricates and cleans parts
• Performs and lockout/tagout procedures according to company policy
• Installs and assists with new and replacement equipment
• Performs preventative maintenance with regular inspections
• Other duties as assigned

Environment/Health/Safety/Housekeeping

• Understands that performing job tasks in a safe manner is the highest priority
• Has read and understands department JSA’s
• Adheres to all safety rules, guidelines and wears appropriate PPE when required
• Fills out “near miss” paperwork on any unsafe condition or action and reports any unsafe condition or act immediately to supervisor or EHS department
• Responsible for housekeeping and 5S in his or her respective areas of work or areas as directed by the department supervisor
• Cooperates and contributes to the creation of a safe, secure and healthy working environment and to the achievement of the company’s environmental obligations and goals

What will make you successful?

• MVP navigation has a full year of completed PMs and WO without being coached.
• Proficient at welding, prep, cutting torch, plasma, track burner.
• Basic knowledge of table rebuilding, pan sections, troughing refractory repairs, snif.
• Hydraulic basics hose repairs, valving, basic schematic knowledge.
• Pneumatics basics hose rebuilds, threading pipe, dry air system.
• Burner repair able to diagnose fuel oxygen ratios with meter.
• Navigate stores checking out parts and knowing of critical spares.
• Completion for level 2 NCCER training
