Job summary

Hydro Extrusion USA, LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform electrical troubleshooting and interpret diagrams. You will use hydraulic system knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment, read PLC programs, and ensure safety with Lockout/Tag-out procedures.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years in a similar position. You will read schematics, operate basic tools, and participate in continuous reliability improvements across all plant equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and electrical diagrams.
• Must be able to perform Lockout/Tag-out procedures.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical systems and interpret diagrams.
• Use hydraulic knowledge to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Read and troubleshoot PLC programs and hardware/software.
• Identify energy sources and apply Lockout/Tag-out per policy.
• Monitor mechanical devices and sounds to locate issues.
• Dismantle devices to access defective parts and replace components.
• Inspect parts for defects and wear.
• Contribute to continuous reliability improvements across equipment and processes.

Shifts Available

12‑hour shift. Must be able to work both day and night shift: 6 AM to 6 PM or 6 PM to 6 AM.

What you will be doing

• Performs electrical troubleshooting and interprets electrical diagrams and symbols.
• Uses hydraulic system knowledge to troubleshoot and make repairs.
• Reads and interprets PLC programs and troubleshoots problems in PLC hardware and software.
• Identifies stored energy and performs all Lockout/Tag‑out procedures according to company policy.
• Observes mechanical devices such as presses and draw benches in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Participates and is fully engaged in continuous reliability improvement of all equipment and processes.

What will make you successful?

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar position.
• Must be able to understand and deliver basic commands in English.
• Must be able to use and maintain all basic tools and measuring equipment pertinent to a maintenance position.
• Must be able to read and interpret schematics.
• Provides routine maintenance on hydraulic systems such as Oil Gear, Rex Roth, Racine, Vickers, etc.
• Proficiency in complex combustion/gas train repair and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or Certificate from college or trade school.
