Job summary

Truist seeks an Operational Risk Oversight Officer to join the 2LOD team responsible for independent risk oversight across Technology, Data, and Operations. The role is on-site in a Truist hub, with no remote option, and requires collaboration with executives and senior management across risk programs.

The position emphasizes risk identification, assessment, and escalation, with an expectation of strong communication, data comfort, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with major in financial-related discipline (accounting, business, finance, etc.) or equivalent education and experience.
• Ten+ years of banking or risk management experience with subject matter expertise in area of oversight; strong grasp of Operational and Enterprise Risk Frameworks including risk identification and assessment; working knowledge of eGRC platforms and tools (e.g., RSA Archer).

Responsibilities

• Provides independent risk oversight for Truist Business Units by identifying, monitoring, mitigating, and reporting on operational risks and escalating key risk matters to executives.
• Reviews and challenges 1LOD Risk Program execution; monitors and documents risk assessments, scenario analyses, and risk indicators; uses Archer or similar tools as prescribed.
• Attends Risk Committees/Steering Groups; engages with 2LOD partners to stay informed on risk drivers and impacts on operational risk.
• Drives strategic initiatives; designs solutions to complex problems; communicates effectively between businesses and 2LOD functions.
