Job summary

Hudbay, a copper-focused mining company, seeks a Senior Engineer, Operational Readiness & Metallurgy for the Copper World project in Arizona. You will ensure compliance with the Operational Readiness Execution Plan, track progress, and identify risks and opportunities across multi-discipline teams.

You will oversee CMMS, PCS, IOC readiness, system integration, and ramp-up through handover to enable a safe start of full-scale operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, chemical, metallurgical or mining engineering.
• Minimum 6 years in the mining industry, preferably milling.
• Experience with CMMS, PCS, SAP and document control.

Responsibilities

• Develop KPIs and readiness dashboards for stakeholders.
• Track progress of the Operational Readiness Execution Plan against the baseline schedule.
• Identify risks and opportunities within the execution plan and schedule.
• Support readiness of mine site systems such as CMMS, PCS, IOC.
• Support maintenance, operational and technical readiness through ramp-up and handover.
• Ensure integration of existing and new systems to prevent information loss.
• Foster collaboration across work groups to promote an integrated operating model.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
