Job summary
Hudbay is seeking a senior Environmental Manager for the Copper World Project in Arizona to lead permitting and compliance across multiple sites. You will supervise a team and coordinate with operations, engineering, and permitting to ensure adherence to air, water, and waste regulations while supporting project development.
The role requires a strong background in mining environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, and program management, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and stakeholder
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil/Hydrology/Environmental/Mining or related field.
- 10+ years of equivalent environmental permitting/site environmental management experience.
- Experience at operating mining operations and with compliance monitoring programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop scopes of work and manage implementation of environmental permitting plans and strategies.
- Coordinate activities between operations, engineering and permitting teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain compliance with permit conditions and reporting obligations; develop and manage environmental plans.
- Mentor and develop staff in all aspects of the environmental program; ensure safety and quality standards.
