Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead on-site execution of a multi-year NNSA program in Tupelo, MS. You will manage site cost, schedule, and delivery for facility build-out, equipment installation, commissioning, and ongoing production operations, reporting to the Program Manager.

The role requires extensive experience in on-site project management within chemical, process, or nuclear environments, strong leadership, and excellent communication

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Business Administration or related field with 9+ years in project administration, incl. 3+ years in project management.
• Experience managing on-site capital, facility, or production projects including construction and commissioning.
• Experience in chemical, process, manufacturing, or nuclear environments; DOE/NNSA/DoD experience desirable.
• Knowledge of project controls: scheduling, budgets, ETCs, variance reporting.
• Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, DOE ES&H and integrated safety expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site execution of the NNSA program at Tupelo, responsible to the Program Manager for site cost, schedule, and deliverables.
• Maintain site schedules and work packages aligned with the program’s integrated master schedule; track progress and recovery plans.
• Manage site budgets, provide cost reports and explanations for variances to program control.
• Coordinate facility modification, construction, and equipment installation with design partners and local contractors.
• Lead site commissioning, turnover, punch lists, and readiness reviews with the Chief Engineer.
• Oversee demonstrations and production campaigns, including staffing, shift planning, material flow, and logistics.
• Manage site procurement, receiving, and supplier performance with subcontracts.
• Champion site safety through planning, hazard analysis, and incident reporting in hazardous environments.
• Ensure quality, configuration control, material accountability, and security requirements at the site.
