Job summary

Turner Industries in the Tuscaloosa, AL area is hiring a Superintendent to supervise maintenance and construction on-site. The role schedules, coordinates, and administers activities, reports to Site or Project Manager, and develops procedures within policy limits.

The position requires 8–10 years of experience, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of construction crafts. Schedule is 5/8s with emphasis on safety and productivity at the job site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Eight to ten years of technical training and/or related experience.
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction.
• Basic knowledge of all crafts.
• Advanced knowledge of key crafts onsite, i.e., mechanical skills, soft skills, planning and safety.
• Highly developed leadership and mentor skills.
• Post offer drug/alcohol screening, physical evaluation, and policy acknowledgement.
• Adherence to safety requirements on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and/or construction effort to meet design, budget and schedule.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions including scheduling and material control.
• Provide interpretation of drawings and technical assistance as required.
• Develop and implement project procedures and standards with management approvals.
• Enforce safety regulations and report violations with corrective actions.
• Manage productivity, equipment use and contractual performance on site.
• Interpret company policies and ensure policy compliance by workers.
