Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for an advanced technology project in Northern Louisiana. This role leads, coordinates, and supervises subcontractors and Turner trade labor to ensure safety, timeliness, quality, and budget adherence on the site.

The position reports to the Superintendent and requires a Bachelor's degree plus at least two years of related experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to read contract documents, drawings and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus a minimum two years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and coordinating the work of subcontractors and Turner trade labor; ensure safety, schedule delivery, quality of work, and adherence to budget.
• Manage site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with Turner standards and safety codes.
• Supervise and develop Field Engineers and interns; provide input on performance appraisals.
• Create schedules and determine sequencing of work; develop recovery strategies to maintain schedule.
• Communicate with owners and architects/engineers on field issues; investigate and resolve them.
• Manage billing processes related to work-in-place; oversee monthly estimates, payrolls, invoices and subcontracts.
